We’re excited to welcome our incoming Amity interns who will be joining the Hatch Elementary community this school year! These dedicated teaching assistants come from around the world to support language learning in our classrooms and enrich our students’ educational experience. While they’re eager to begin their journey with us, a few of them are still in need of local housing. If you or someone you know has a room or apartment available—or simply wants to help support these amazing educators—please read on for more details!
Natalia is attending Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas in Bogota, Colombia.
“I am particularly passionate about learning languages and discovering the wonderful places of the world, its people, and its cultures. I enjoy listening to music, watching series and movies, reading literature, working out at the gym, and spending time with friends. As a creative person, I like doing crafts, organizing and decorating spaces, putting together outfits, and other forms of self-expression.”
Darien is attending Universidad Pedagogica y Tecnologica de Colombia in Tunja, Colombia.
“I really enjoy practice exercise such as, playing soccer, and going to the gym. I look forward to helping the students in their development in Spanish classes and also supporting their process in terms of foreign language acquisition.”
Rosana is attending University of Valladolid in Valladolid, Spain.
“I consider myself a very active person and highly motivated to start new activities. I usually spend most of my free time drawing. As I have studied Fine Arts I would like to share my passion to other people, especially children. I love working with children. I will create activities so that they can learn in a playful way through games and at the same time teach them about the Spanish language, my culture or any other areas.”
Jesus is attending University of Extremadura in Badajoz, Spain
“I am a proactive and highly motivated person with a strong predisposition to work independently and collaboratively. I enjoy staying physically active through sports, outdoor activities or simply going for a walk, and the thing that I enjoy the most is when I can share its values and benefits to someone else so they can incorporate them into their daily life. Living with a host family would mean an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the culture, language, and daily life of a new environment.”
